Not your usual Loss Adjusting firm.

Jigsaw Fine Art is an independent loss adjusting practice focused exclusively on fine art insurance claims. We work on behalf of insurers and Lloyd’s underwriters, providing expert assessment of damage, loss, and liability across private collections, galleries, museums, bank vaults and storage facilities.

Who we are

Eyes on the ground.
Everywhere.

A photograph proves nothing. A report submitted remotely is easily manipulated. Jigsaw operates through a network of qualified art professionals — conservators, appraisers, and surveyors — who attend the site directly, wherever the artwork is located. We verify damage in person. We document the true state of the work, not the version a claimant wants you to see.

What we handle

The sectors we
take care of.

1

Private Collections

Individual works and collection portfolios. Pre-risk surveys, condition assessment, and claims handling for private collectors and estates.

2

Galleries and Museums

Exhibition venues, loan agreements, and institutional collections. On-site inspection and direct liaison with curators and conservators.

3

Storage and Transit

Bank vaults, art storage facilities, and international shipping. Damage assessment at point of discovery, wherever in the world it occurs.

How we work

Our Process

From instruction to settlement.

1.

Instructions

Instructions received — We take instruction from insurers and underwriters. The claim is assessed for complexity, location, and required expertise.

2.

On-site

On-site inspection — A qualified professional from our network attends the location of the loss. Damage is documented, tested, and independently verified.

3.

Investigations

Investigation and enquiries — We request and review all relevant documentation: provenance, condition reports, transport records, restoration estimates.

4.

Report

Report and settlement — A formal loss adjustment report is issued. We advise underwriters on liability and recommend reserve and settlement figures.

Experience & passion

Why Jigsaw ?

Most loss adjusters handle everything — cargo, property, liability, art. Jigsaw does not. Every case we take is a fine art case, which means every judgement we apply has been built exclusively in that context. Specialisation is not a positioning choice. It is how the work gets done correctly.

Fine art only.

Photographs can be staged. Damage can be exaggerated, misrepresented, or fabricated entirely. Our network of qualified conservators, appraisers, and surveyors attends the location of every loss directly, wherever the work is in the world. What we report is what we have seen.

We attend. In person.

12 years of cases, one practice.
Jigsaw draws on over a decade of fine art claims experience across private collections, museum loans, international transit, and bank vault storage. That depth of case history informs every assessment we make — including the ones that look straightforward until they are not.

12 years of cases, one practice.
